The Best Moist Chocolate Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup cake flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
2 large eggs
1/2 cup full cream milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 to 1 tsp coffee
1/2 cup boiling water
1 tbsp white vinegar
Instructions:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
Grease and flour a cake pan, then set aside.
Prepare Dry Ingredients:
In a mixing bowl, sift together 1 cup cake flour, 1/3 cup cocoa powder, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking powder, and 1 tsp baking soda.
Add Wet Ingredients:
To the dry ingredients, add 2 large eggs, 1/2 cup full cream milk, 1/4 cup vegetable oil, and 1 tsp vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
Add Coffee and Boiling Water:
Dissolve 1/2 to 1 tsp coffee in 1/2 cup boiling water.
Add this coffee mixture to the cake batter and mix well.
Add Vinegar:
Stir in 1 tbsp white vinegar to the cake batter and mix until fully incorporated.
Bake:
Pour the cake batter into the prepared cake pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Make Frosting:
In a saucepan over low heat, combine 250 ml evaporated milk, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup cocoa powder, and 1 tbsp plain flour.
Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches the desired thickness.
Once thickened, remove from heat and stir in 40 g of salted or unsalted butter until melted and smooth.
Frost the Cake:
Once the cake has cooled completely, frost it with the chocolate frosting.
Serve:
Slice and serve your delicious, moist chocolate cake!
