The staple food



Sadza (Zimbabwean staple food)

Ingredients:


1. 2 cups of maize meal (cornmeal)

2. 4 cups of water

3. Salt to taste


Instructions:


1. Boil water in a large pot.

2. Gradually add maize meal, stirring constantly.

3. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until cooked.


Roasted Pork

Ingredients:


1. 1 kg pork shoulder or loin

2. 2 tbsp olive oil

3. 1 tsp salt

4. 1 tsp black pepper

5. 1 tsp paprika

6. 1 tsp garlic powder


Instructions:


1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

2. Rub pork with olive oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

3. Roast in the oven for 1-2 hours or until cooked through.


Serve

1. Slice roasted pork.

2. Serve with sadza and your favorite vegetables or relish.
